INCLUDED SIGHTSEEING.
The capital of the State of
Victoria and the second largest city in Australia.
Melbourne's charm lies in the magnificently preserved
Victorian architecture of its many public buildings and
gracious homes. This morning our city tour will take in the
main highlights, starting in the city centre, then on to the
exclusive suburbs of South Yarra and Toorak and finally to
the Westgate Bridge for panoramic views of Port Phillip Bay.
Melbourne is perhaps best known for its fine parks and
gardens, so why not spend your afternoon exploring the
"Garden City"? |

Day 3 MELBOURNE. The
day is yours to relax or explore further. Perhaps join one
of our great value optional excursions, which range from the
"Penguin Parade" (little penguins can be seen coming ashore
in the early evening) to winery tours - or even a
combination of the two?

Day 4 MELBOURNE - ALICE
SPRINGS. A
morning flight will take you for an overnight stay in Alice
Springs. The Red Centre of Australia is a totally unique
area. In the geographic centre of the country, Alice Springs
is close to some of the most awe-inspiring and colourful
natural wonders of the world, including MacDonnell Ranges,
Simpson's Gap, and Standley Chasm. An orientation tour will
help familiarise you with the city, situated on the
frequently dry Todd River. Included is a visit to the Old
Telegraph Station, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the
School of the Air.

Day 5 ALICE SPRINGS -
AYERS ROCK - INCLUDED SIGHTSEEING.
We travel south west to Ayers
Rock, the world's largest monolith, which captured the
imagination of the Australian Aboriginals centuries before
European settlement. It is steeped in the mystery of legend,
mythology and folklore. You'll also walk through Mount Olga
Gorge, 28 massive domes of conglomerate rock before heading
back to "Sunset Strip" for canapes and champagne. From this
vantage point, you will have the opportunity to view and
photograph the dramatic colour changes that can occur on the
Rock at sunset.

Day 6 AYERS ROCK -
CAIRNS - INCLUDED SIGHTSEEING.
This morning enjoy a tour around
the base of Ayers Rock, with time to explore some of the
caves and view Aboriginal paintings and carvings, some
thousands of years old. Fly to Cairns, capital of the
Tropical North Queensland - where the rainforest meets the
reef, for a three-night stay.

Day 7 CAIRNS - GREAT
BARRIER REEF - INCLUDED SIGHTSEEING.
The world's largest coral reef, made up of over 29,000
individual reefs very close to each other and over 1,250
miles long, is one of our planet's most amazing natural
wonders. Our included catamaran cruise to Green Island, a
6,000 year old coral cay will offer opportunities for
strolling through cool rainforest, lazing on white coral
sands, swimming or snorkelling on the surrounding coral
reef. You may wish to take a ride on a glass bottom boat to
see some of the world's most colourful coral and other
marine life in the crystal clear waters.

Set amongst lush rainforests,
soaring peaks and the ocean, Cairns is one of Australia's
most popular tourist destinations and has many attractions,
including the Esplanade, a scenic railway which runs to the
picturesque market town of Kuranda and a cable car that
glides over Australia's World Heritage listed Tropical
Rainforest canopy and deep into the forest. The day is yours
to relax or explore.

Day 9 CAIRNS - SYDNEY.
There's time for more relaxation before transferring to
Cairns airport for your flight to Sydney, a three-night
stay. |

Day 10 SYDNEY - INCLUDED
SIGHTSEEING.
The capital of the state of New
South Wales, Sydney is Australia's oldest and largest city,
and boasts one of the largest and most beautiful harbours in
the world, home to the instantly recognisable Sydney Harbour
Bridge and world famous architectural wonder - the Sydney
Opera House. In the morning our included sightseeing tour
will take you through the commercial and shopping heart of
Sydney. You'll see Chinatown and Darling Harbour before
heading to historical Mrs Macquarie's Chair, where you will
have a breathtaking view of the Opera House and Harbour
Bridge. You'll also enjoy an included cruise around the main
harbour, offering magnificent views of the city skyline,
harbourside beaches and magnificent waterfront homes. |

Day 11 SYDNEY.
The day is yours to see more of this wonderful city. For the
more adventurous, how about a once in a lifetime opportunity
to climb the world famous Sydney Harbour Bridge? An evening
performance at the Opera House is also a popular choice.

Day 4 PERTH - AYERS ROCK.
INCLUDED SIGHTSEEING.
A morning flight will take you
to Ayers Rock, Australia's legend-swathed monolith. After
transferring to your hotel, you'll enjoy an afternoon tour
of the Olgas, 28 spectacular rock domes rising from the
Outback. Another sacred Aboriginal site, these incredible
formations are known as "Kata Tjuta", or "Heads of Giants"
and are divided by a series of high gorges. Walk into Olga
Gorge before heading for the Sunset Strip vantage point,
where you will enjoy champagne and canapés while
experiencing, and of course photographing, one of the
world’s great spectacles - Ayers Rock at sunset. |

Day 5 AYERS ROCK - ALICE
SPRINGS.
We make an early morning start
to experience the spectacular sunrise vistas of Ayers Rock,
along with an opportunity to make a dawn climb to the top.
You'll enjoy a morning tour around the base of this
extraordinary monolith, whose circumference is studded with
caves decorated with ancient Aboriginal paintings and
carvings. After returning to your hotel, we drive to the
outback town of Alice Springs. |

Day 6 ALICE SPRINGS - INCLUDED
SIGHTSEEING.

Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffin, National Library,
High Court and Anzac Parade.

We drive to Albury, which along
with its twin settlement Wodonga, lies on the New South
Wales and Victoria border, for an overnight stay.

This morning we travel to

gold mining town of Beechworth on the way.

Day 1 ARRIVE AUCKLAND.
On arrival in Auckland you will

Day 2 AUCKLAND. INCLUDED
SIGHTSEEING.
Standing on an isthmus with the
Pacific Ocean on one side and the Tasman Sea on the other,
New Zealand's largest city is a fertile, clean and friendly
metropolis, surrounded by numerous volcanoes, including
Mount Eden. This morning you'll enjoy an included city
sightseeing tour, including visits to Westhaven Marina,
Auckland University, Harbour Bridge, Parnell Village, with
its colonial style shops, the Viaduct harbour, and from the
summit of Mount Eden you will have expansive 360 degree
views of the city. Your evening is free, so why not visit
the revolving Orbit Restaurant situated at the top of Sky
Tower for the most amazing views of Auckland at night?

Day 3 AUCKLAND - WAITOMO
- ROTORUA.
Today we head south through
verdant countryside to the famous Waitomo Glow-worm Caves.
This ancient seabed has been eroded into an incredible
landscape of caves and limestone formations. Thousands of
glow-worms inhabit the Waitomo Cave, their lights reflected
in an underground river. Next stop is Rotorua for an
overnight stay, and there will be time to enjoy a refreshing
soak in one of the mineral pools. |

Day 4 ROTORUA - NAPIER.
Rotorua is a centre of Maori
culture which sits on top of one of the country's most
active volcanic zones. There are bubbling geysers and mud
pools everywhere, so you can revitalise yourself by soaking
in a healing mineral pool. We will begin our day with the
entertaining and informative sheep-shearing displays at the
Agrodome. There is also time to explore the native garden of
Paradise Valley Springs, before we head for an overnight
stay in Napier, travelling via Lake Taupo. |

Day 5 NAPIER -
WELLINGTON.
The centre of the Hawkes Bay
region of New Zealand, Napier is renowned for both its wine
industry and its Art Deco architecture. You'll enjoy a brief
orientation tour of the city, and the evening is yours to
explore further and sample the local cuisine. |

Day 6 WELLINGTON -
CHRISTCHURCH. INCLUDED SIGHTSEEING.
Transfer to the airport for your
flight to Christchurch, known as the "Garden City of the
Plains" because of its many lovely parks and gardens. On
arrival you'll enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the
city, including visits to Port Hills, Evans Pass and Sumner. |

Day 7 CHRISTCHURCH -
TRANZALPINE EXPRESS - FRANZ JOSEF.
Today sees one of the true
highlights of your trip - a breathtaking scenic ride on the
Tranzalpine Express, one of the most spectacular train
journeys in the world, taking you through the rugged
Southern Alps and Arthurs Pass to Greymouth. We then travel
down the west coast by coach to Franz Josef for an overnight
stay. |

Day 8 FRANZ JOSEF -
QUEENSTOWN.
Another journey through
awe-inspiring scenery takes us to Queenstown for a
three-night stay. |

Day 9 MILFORD SOUND.
We journey into Fiordland
National Park, through the Homer Tunnel and on to
spectacular Milford Sound for an afternoon cruise on this
awe-inspiring 16km waterway, lined with soaring walls of
rock. Rising above the Sound is the vast, usually
snow-capped, form of Mitre Peak |

Day 10 QUEENSTOWN.
A full day to explore Queenstown
at your leisure. Why not join our optional excursion - a
Shotover Jet Boat Ride? Not only will you be thrilled by the
unique and exciting Shotover Jet boat, during your trip you

Day 11 QUEENSTOWN -
TWIZEL.
Today we travel to Twizel. Your
journey begins by following the Kawarau River to the
township of Cromwell. Then we cross the Lindis Pass, which
links north-central Otago and the Mckenzie country. This
inland route winds through some of the most evocative hill
country to be found in New Zealand. Continue north to
Omarama and then to Twizel. |

Day 12 TWIZEL - MOUNT
COOK - CHRISTCHURCH.
Today we travel to the Alpine
village of Mount Cook. The surrounding National Park is an
exquisitely picturesque natural wonderland with 15 peaks
over 3,000 metres high, including Mount Cook itself. Dubbed
the "cloud piercer" by the Maoris, it is the highest peak in
Australasia and home to the Tasman Glacier, New Zealand's
biggest. Perhaps you'd like to join us for an optional
Glacier Highlights Ski Plane Flight, offering spectacular
views over majestic mountains that are almost close enough
to touch? We then return to Christchurch for an overnight
stay. |
